Rijksstudio Award is the biennial art- and design prize from the Rijksmuseum. With this competition the Rijks invites designers to create their own masterpiece inspired by the Rijksmuseum's collection.

An international jury of experts will assess who the 10 finalists and the 3 winners of the Rijksstudio Award 2020.

The Rijks aims to produce the winning product and sell it in the gift shop.

Our entry is a breastfeeding blanket based on ‘Cimon and Pero’ by Peter Paul Rubens.

This breastfeeding blanket is for those who want to make a statement around the stigma of breastfeeding in public. Narrow minded members of the general public have often decided to get offended by the natural act of a baby getting fed by its mother's breast? No worries, this monstrous act can be hidden with this new breastfeeding blanket portraying an old man sucking a woman’s breast instead. Way more appropriate!
